Eligibility Requirements

 

With the exception of teen parents enrolled in school full-time, parent(s)/caregiver and live-in companion must be working a minimum of 20 hours per week or meet a work/training combo of 20 hours per week.Subsidized child care is available to provide care for a child only if no family member is available to care for the child.

 

This following information is required from working parent(s)/caretaker(s) and any live-in companion(s) in the household:

 

  • Employment verification stating the days and hours that you work, your pay frequency, and your anticipated gross wage per pay period. Child Care Information Services (CCIS) can supply an Employment Verification Form.

  • Current pay verification covering 4 weeks employment within the most recent 6 weeks (they do not need to be consecutive). If you have pending employment starting within 30 days or new employment, you will have 30 days to verify your wages.

  • All additional income, which could include Child support, Social Security Income (SSI), Unemployment Compensation, or Workers Compensation. All income information will be verified.

If you are a teen parent, we encourage you to apply; however, to be eligible you must:

 

Be enrolled in an educational program full-time if you have not finished high school or completed a GED. There is no work requirement for a teen parent who is attending school. However, if you are working, child care for school hours, as well as for work hours, can be subsidized.
